Product design
UI/UX Design
Design at Tech & Crafts is not a deck. It is a working prototype, a component library and a set of interaction rules that survive contact with the engineering sprint — because the engineers are in the room while it is being drawn.
Most design work fails at the handover. Beautiful screens get approved, then quietly degrade as engineers guess at empty states, error messages, loading behaviour and what happens on a narrow screen. The finished product looks nothing like the deck that sold it.
We solve that by keeping design and engineering on the same team. Every design we hand over includes the states nobody remembers to draw, the motion rules, the responsive behaviour and a component library the build actually uses.
Capabilities
What UI/UX Design covers
Interfaces with the polish of a first-party app.
User research & discovery
Interviews, task analysis and usability testing of what exists today, so redesign decisions rest on evidence rather than on the loudest opinion in the meeting.
Interaction & UI design
High-fidelity screens for every state — empty, loading, error, permission-denied, first-run — designed for the devices your analytics actually show.
Design systems
Tokens, components, motion rules and usage documentation in Figma, mirrored one-to-one in code so the library is a single source of truth.
Prototyping
Clickable and on-device prototypes you can put in front of real users before committing engineering budget to the wrong idea.
Usability audits
A heuristic and task-based review of your live product with a prioritised list of fixes ranked by effort against impact.
Accessibility design
Contrast, focus order, target sizing, motion sensitivity and screen-reader flow designed in from the start rather than patched to pass an audit.
Why it works
What you get that you might not expect.
These are the commitments clients tell us mattered most once the project was underway.
Designed to be built
Every screen is reviewed with the engineers who will build it, so nothing in the file is quietly impossible or disproportionately expensive.
Motion with intent
Transitions that explain where a user came from and where they are going, tuned to real device performance and respectful of reduced-motion settings.
Tested with real users
Moderated sessions with people from your actual audience, recorded and shared, before the design is locked.
A system, not screens
You finish with a library your team can extend for years, not a folder of one-off artboards.
How we deliver
Our ui/ux design process
Every stage produces something you can look at, use or disagree with. Nothing is invisible until the end.
-
1
Understand
Stakeholder interviews, analytics review, support-ticket analysis and user interviews to find where the current experience actually breaks.
-
2
Structure
Information architecture, user flows and low-fidelity wireframes — agreed before any visual design work begins.
-
3
Design
Visual language, high-fidelity screens and the full state matrix, reviewed with you in weekly working sessions.
-
4
Validate
Prototype testing with target users, iteration on what the sessions reveal, and a written summary of findings.
-
5
Systemise & hand over
Component library, tokens, motion specs and a walkthrough with the build team — plus design support through the engineering sprints.

Technologies we use for this
Chosen per project rather than by house policy. We will explain the trade-off in plain terms before anything is decided.
