Tech & Crafts started because four engineers were tired of a particular pattern: a client asks for something, the agency agrees to all of it, and eighteen months later everyone is unhappy with software nobody wanted to build. The requirement was wrong from the start and nobody said so.
So the first rule we wrote down was that we would say the difficult thing early. It has cost us work — more than once we have told a prospective client that their project should be smaller, cheaper, or should not happen at all. It has also given us a client base that mostly stays, and a referral rate that means we spend almost nothing on advertising.
The second half of the name matters too. Craft is not a decorative concern. The care that shows in an interface is the same care that goes into the database schema, the error handling and the documentation someone will read at 2am eighteen months from now. Work that looks considered usually is, all the way down.

Say the difficult thing early
If a requirement is a bad idea, an estimate is optimistic, or a deadline will not hold, you hear it while there is still time to act. We would rather lose an argument in week two than a project in month five.
Craft is not decoration
The care visible in an interface is the same care applied to the database schema and the error handling. Work that looks considered usually is, all the way down.
Own the outcome
Scope is a shared responsibility, but the result is ours. We do not hide behind a specification when something we built does not work in practice.
Build to be handed over
Every system we deliver is documented and structured so another team could take it on. Lock-in through obscurity is not a business model we want.

Founded in Kochi
Started by four engineers in a small office in Kakkanad, building web applications for Kerala businesses.

First international clients
UAE and UK engagements began, and the delivery process was rebuilt around distributed collaboration.

Mobile and cloud practices
Dedicated Flutter and DevOps teams formed as clients moved from websites to platforms.

Moved to Infopark
Relocated to Infopark Phase I with room for a team of a hundred and a dedicated client visit space.

Data and AI practice
Formed a specialist team for machine learning, document intelligence and analytics engineering.

320 projects, 18 countries
Client offices opened in Dubai and London, with delivery remaining entirely in Kochi.

Leads client relationships and commercial strategy. Spent eight years in enterprise delivery before co-founding Tech & Crafts, and still sits in on every discovery workshop for a new client.

Co-founder & Chief Technology Officer
Owns architecture standards and engineering practice across the company. Has led platform work in fintech and healthcare, and reviews the design of every system before build begins.
Rahul Krishnan
Head of Delivery
Responsible for how projects actually run — estimation, sprint discipline and the escalation path when something slips. Joined in 2018 as a Laravel engineer.
Sneha Thomas
Head of Design
Built the design practice from a single designer to a team of twelve. Focuses on interaction detail and on keeping design systems usable long after handover.
